The Alliance Solutions Team

Alliance Solutions is managed by its two founding directors Fergus Ramsay and Jez Deacon who between them have have over 50 years’ experience in the IT industry.

With a highly skilled team of network and software engineers, Alliance Solutions is ideally positioned to offer in-depth and highly proactive IT advice, implementation and support. Many of our clients have been with us for many years and continue to update and evolve their IT systems with our assistance.

Fergus has held a number of sales and operational roles before co-founding Alliance Solutions. The goal was to form a company whose ethos was to be the preferred partner for organisations in the SME marketplace seeking to implement and support on-premise and cloud-based IT systems.

Outside of work, Fergus enjoys organising family “excursions” and has a variety of interests from motor sports to cultural and live music events. Fergus is on the village committee, which each year has a charity fundraising weekend with up to 10,000 visitors, run entirely by volunteers and raises thousands of pounds for local charities. Rugby is a passion and he is an avid Scotland rugby fan! Fergus enjoys participating in golf, tennis & skiing but he is equally happy on country walks with the family Labrador dog.

Jez originally studied Physics at Imperial College London and then more specifically Space and Solar Physics. He then moved into the world of software development, working on projects in a diverse range of industries. During this work, Jez became increasingly involved in the more technical aspects of IT system design. Jez has been working in software development and IT systems since 1990.

Outside work, Jez maintains a keen interest in several fields of physics as well as enjoying walking and hunting down interesting historical architecture (when his children allow!)

Ian Davis joined Alliance Solutions in 2004, bringing with him a number of years of IT experience. He gained his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification three years before joining Alliance Solutions, becoming one of the first Windows 2000 MCSE’s in the UK.

Away from work, Ian has a young family, with whom he enjoys spending as much time as possible (too much time some might say!) away on camping holidays, as well as enjoying many outdoor activities. He also has a very keen interest in motorsports and cars in general – although if they go wrong he is definitely not your man!!

Graham Webber is qualified to Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) level in virtualization. He gained his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification in Exchange as well as the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSA) certification in Messaging in 2003.

Outside Alliance Solutions, Graham enjoys music, outdoors, family and BBQs (all at the same time), as well as making and drinking wine (red please!). He’s also often to be found at music festivals or keeping his 1972 VW Campervan alive.

Ant originally studied Computer Science in Stevenage. He then moved into IT with an internationally recognised aerospace company. During this work, Ant became interested in software design and development, after which he worked for several large international corporations before joining Alliance Solutions in 2005.

Outside work, Ant maintains a keen interest in software development and contributes to several open source projects. He is also interested in music, having released two albums (tracks from one were remixed and used widely in the Manchester clubbing scene). He squeezes all this in while looking after his family!

Ian is a MCP, Zyxel Security ZCNE, 3CX Certified Engineer. With over 13 years’ IT experience working for an array of businesses, Ian’s focus is on delivering time critical projects for businesses of all sizes. Two of his last projects involved multiple phases lasting 24 months. Because IT is constantly evolving, Ian is always aims to make the systems he works on as flexible and scalable as possible, to accommodate future growth.

When not at work, Ian enjoys rock and mountain climbing, and says there is nothing better than escaping to the country to pitch a tent in the mountains of North Wales or Scotland. Ian is on The Herts and Essex Climbing Club Committee.

Additionally Suraj enjoys social events with family and friends, and travels the world on road trips, writing blogs on the food and scenery as he goes.

He is currently the proud holder of the title “Alliance Solutions Bowling Champion”.

In his spare time, Omkar plays rugby for his local side as a prop. He also enjoys playing football and enjoys going to see his team (Chelsea) whenever possible.

Luke’s hobbies and interests have had to be put on hold over the last year or so as he has spent most of his spare time on an ongoing project decorating his house top to bottom, with his pet sausage dog for company!

Prior to joining Alliance Solutions, John spent four years working for the Financial Times office in London in a technical support role.

Outside work he is a keen golfer. In a constant quest to improve his game, John travels widely across the UK in order to challenge himself on as many different golf courses as possible. Away from the golf course he socialises with his friends, plays football for his local team and regularly goes to Deep House music events.

Many clients, suppliers and partners will know Sarah in her role of controller of the Alliance Solutions purse strings, for which her chartered accountancy qualification serves her well.

When she’s not looking after financial matters, Sarah loves cooking and horse riding (though not at the same time). She is also a stalwart of her local community, being heavily involved with the running and maintenance of the parish church in her village.

Diana worked for many years as a nurse before moving into an administrative role. She now splits her working week between Alliance Solutions and a local Medical Practice.
