Project Delivery

Planning

The planning of a network installation is critical to ensure minimal disruption during the installation work. This is true of both new network installations and upgrades to existing networks.

Whether you are a new start up business, merging business, or an expanding business we can project manage and install a solutions for you. We are well versed in providing services to clients and can add valued input at the planning stage.

We advise clients on the best practices to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of their IT investments as well as helping clients to manage their communications, data and management information systems more effectively.

The planning should take into account all organisations involved in the installation to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Planning often involves liaising with equipment suppliers, Internet service providers, telephony suppliers, third party cabling companies and electricians where required.

Alliance Solutions can plan the entire installation process or work with you as part of your team.

Management

As with project planning, the management of an installation often requires liaising with several different companies.

Alliance Solutions can manage some or all of the liaising process to make sure that the installation work is completed on time and that everything runs smoothly.

Project management may require liaising with the following:

•  Telecoms providers
•  Internet service providers
•  Mobile phone network providers
•  Electricians
•  Third party cabling contractors
•  Third party phone system installers
•  Office fit out contractors
•  Air conditioning engineers

Office moves

Alliance Solutions can help you if you are moving premises or expanding into additional premises. Our experience in this field helps to ensure that your IT infrastructure will keep running with as little disruption as possible.

Procurement

Alliance Solutions offers a procurement service to customers to enable them to locate and purchase items often at substantially reduced cost.

We operate a vendor independent policy that allows us to source computer, network equipment and software, from a wide range of IT industry distributors.

We can give you information on which manufacturers and vendors offer finance or leasing facilities, For example Microsoft offer a finance package that allows you to pay the VAT element at the start and finance the net value over the agreed term. It is often possible to cover not only the cost of computer hardware but the software and installation labour.

We carry out searches on behalf of our customers for required solutions to business needs. This may include locating a specialist piece of software to avoid the need for having bespoke software designed and written. We charge for our time during this process as we are acting on behalf of our customers and not the supplier.

In addition, we can offer our customers access to substantial price reductions for many items available through distribution from who the customer may not be able to purchase directly. Occasionally for very competitively priced items we may not be able to offer better pricing than some high volume Internet suppliers. If this is the case we can advise you on who the best supplier is to contact.

Knowing at what levels to budget for IT expenditure keeps you in the driving seat and minimises unpleasant surprises.

Implementation

Alliance Solutions installs equipment both supplied by ourselves or directly purchased by the customer. The primary categories that we install and configure are:

Local Network Switching Equipment

This category is mainly concerned with equipment that connects PCs, printers and servers together within a site. The main type of device used is the network switch. There is a wide variety available and it is important to ensure that the right switches are used.

Internet Wide Area Network Connection Equipment

This category includes firewalls and routers that are used to connect to the Internet and also to connect multiple sites together to create larger organsiation wide networks.

Network Servers and Server Software

Servers are used for file storage, email, databases, intranets, faxing and many other uses. The number of servers required can vary from one multi-purpose server for a small business environment to any number for large multi-site networks.

Workstation PCs, Peripherals and Application Software

This includes configuring PCs and printers on the network so that users can be up and running immediately including the installation of application software.
